BLOG SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

 

THE “TIMBUKTU” BLOG WELCOMES SUBMISSIONS IN THE FORM OF BOTH JOURNALISTIC ARTICLES (CURRENT AWARENESS ARTICLES, OPINION PIECES, ETC) AND ACADEMIC WORKS  (RESEARCH PAPERS, ESSAYS, ETC). OUR AIM IS TO STIMULATE DEBATE & DIALOGUE ON PERTINENT ISSUES IN AFRICAN DEVELOPMENT, COVERING A RANGE OF RELATED TOPICS INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO: POLITICAL AFFAIRS / REGIONAL & INTERNATIONAL POLICIES / SUSTAINABILITY CHALLENGES / HUMAN RIGHTS / EDUCATION / & MORE. 

 

STYLE


GENERAL

Submissions must be the original and unpublished work of the contributor.

The Editorial Team must be given notice of cross-publication of the article on other platforms after its publication on “Timbuktu”.

Original and controversial viewpoints are encouraged, but must not contain inaccurate or offensive material.

 

PROCEDURE

Submissions are welcome on a rolling basis, as well as in response to calls for written works under particular themes.

Articles should be sent in a word document format. 

All content will be subject to review and edits for stylistic and formatting purposes by the Editorial Team.

Any changes to the structure or content of the piece will be suggested to the author for approval before publication.

A decision will be made on the publication of the article by the Editorial Team within 1 week of submission.
