Amira is Sponsorship Co-Coordinator of the SOAS African Development Forum and is pursuing an MA in International Studies and Diplomacy.
She is a young professional with a passion for African entrepreneurship and an interest in the growth of the informal sector. After completing her BA at the University of Oxford, Amira spent time working for a Nigerian tech start-up in Paris where she gained knowledge of the barriers impeding economic growth for African SMEs. She has since began work on a project that addresses how the global credit rating models currently undervalue the productive potential of African firms thereby impeding their access to capital, which she hopes will lead to reform. She is also part of a team of students working with the United Nations on a treaty for general and complete disarmament.
