Silas is Marketing Director of the SOAS African Development Forum and in his final year of reading for a BA in Development Studies.

Silas is interested in the development of institutions on the continent and how they can be built and optimised for the diverse histories and peoples of its 54 nations. Recently he conducted extensive research for Touchline Publishing as an Editorial Research Intern on the African philanthropic landscape and the regulatory environments within which it exists. He is a keen writer and has written for the Market Mogul and the SOAS Student Newspaper on a range of issues from the Economics of Terrorism to Trumponomics. He rejoins the SOAS African Development Forum Team to support the Forum’s work in engaging students, academics and practitioners from across the world in the ongoing conversations and debates that are concerned with the continent’s development.
